The Fort is situated by the edge of a cliff between the sea and the coast road, and to the East of São João do Estoril. It has a military architecture, inspired in Baroque style. The lighthouse is in line with the Lighthouse marking the Northern Bar of the Port of Lisbon and the Guia lighthouse.
The access is now sealed by an iron gate. Through the grilles it is, however, possible to observe the remainders of the parapet and the door that gives access to the lighthouse, where exists an inscription with the royal weapons.
